INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Loosen and separate the two parts of the embroidery hoop. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Paprika to basecoat the two hoops. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
  2. Use a pen and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the pennant pattern to the burlap and cut out.
  3. Use the layering background stencils from the DecoArt Personally Yours Between the Lines Stencils (the dots, triangles, and chevron). Loading a new cosmetic sponge for each color, stencil the pennants as follows (see photo from left to right): Red Barn chevron; Battleship polka dots; Yellow Gold (Metallic) triangles; and Chocolate (Metallic) chevron. Let dry completely.
  4. Use the shadow font stencil from the DecoArt Personally Yours Urban ink Stencil to pounce on the letters to spell "FALL" using a cosmetic sponge with Black Tie.
  5. Hold the embroidery hoop over the chicken wire and outline with a marker leaving 1-1/2" beyond the embroidery hoop to fold in later.
  6. Use wire cutters to cut out the chicken wire circle.
  7. Fold the chicken wire over the smaller inner circles.
  8. Unscrew the top of the outer embroidery hoop, slide it over the smaller circle, and tighten the top again. Use mini clothespins to attach the pennants toward the center of the hoop (or wherever you want).
  9. Use scissors to cut wired burlap ribbon a length of your choice.
  10. Tie the ribbon so it loops through the top and make a bow of your choice.
