Getting Cozy for Winter Painted Rocks

Get in on the painted rock trend with these winter-wear themed ones made with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- rocks
- small acrylic paint brushes, assorted sizes and shapes
- newspaper or dropcloth
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Wash the rock and let it dry completely before painting. Protect the work surface with a sheet of newspaper. Allow paint to fully dry between steps and when changing to a new color. Repeat each step as needed for additional coverage.
- For the mitten: Paint a mitten shape in Turquoise Waters.
- For the mitten: Paint a zigzag stripe in Apple Green.
- For the mitten: Paint another zigzag stripe in Cotton Ball.
- For the mitten: Mix Turquoise Waters with a small amount of Black Tie; use the mix to paint ribbing detail to the bottom band of the mitten.
- For the hat: Paint a hat shape in Turquoise Waters.
- For the hat: Mix Turquoise Waters with a small amount of Black Tie; use the mix to paint ribbing detail to the bottom band of the hat.
- For the hat: Paint a zigzag stripe in Apple Green.
- For the hat: Paint another zigzag stripe and a fluffy pom-pom in Cotton Ball. Mix Cotton Ball with a small amount of Black Tie and ue mix to add shading to the pom-pom.
- For the scarf: Paint a thick stripe around the entire rock toward the top end of the rock in Turquoise Waters. Paint the rest of the scarf in the same color. (See photo.)
- For the scarf: Mix Turquoise Waters with a small amount of Black Tie. Use mix to add shading to the scarf. Add more Black Tie to the Turquoise Waters and paint the fringe.
- For the scarf: Paint zigzag stripes in Apple Green.
- For the scarf: Paint another row of zigzag stripes in Cotton Ball.
