SUPPLIES

Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics

  • Black Tie (DA539)
  • Cocoa Bean (DA535)
  • Cotton Ball (DA500)
  • Dolphin (DA537)
  • Orange Sherbet (DA510)

Other supplies

  • rock
  • small acrylic paint brushes, assorted sizes and shapes

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Wash the stone and let it dry completely before painting. Protect work surface with sheet of newspaper. Allow paint to fully dry between steps and when changing to a new color.

  1. For the fox: Paint a fox face in the middle of the rock in orange sherbet.

  2. For the fox: Using a fine tip brush, paint the sides of the fox face starting part way from the top to the bottom tip in cotton ball.

  3. For the fox: Using a fine tip brush, paint the ears, eyes and nose in black tie.

  4. For the owl: Paint an owl face in the middle of the rock in dolphin.

  5. For the owl: Paint two larger sized circles for the owl’s eyes in cotton ball.

  6. For the owl: Using a fine tip brush, paint the beak in orange sherbet.

  7. For the owl: Using a fine tip brush, paint the eyes in black tie.

  8. For the bear: Paint a bear face in the middle of the rock using multi surface satin paint in cocoa bean.
    Step 7 Example
  9. For the bear: Mix cocoa bean with cotton ball paint colors together for the snout and inner ears. Using a fine tip paint brush, paint the snout and inner ear shapes as shown.

  10. For the bear: Using a fine tip brush, paint the eyes and nose in black tie.
