SUPPLIES

Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics

  • Black Tie (DA539)
  • Cocoa Bean (DA535)
  • Cotton Ball (DA500)
  • Dolphin (DA537)
  • Pink Cadillac (DA503)
  • Steel Grey (DA538)

Other supplies

  • rocks
  • small acrylic paint brushes, assorted sizes and shapes (with fine tips for detailed work)

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Wash the rock and let it dry completely before painting. Protect work surface with sheet of newspaper. Allow paint to fully dry between steps and when changing to a new color. Repeat each step as needed for additional coverage.

  1. Assemble the supplies to begin painting.

  2. For the deer: Paint the deer's face and ears on the lower half of the rock in cocoa bean.
    Step 1 Example
  3. For the deer: Mix together equal parts cocoa bean and cotton ball and using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the deer's antlers and snout.

  4. For the deer: Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the eyes and nose in black tie. Use the end of a toothpick to apply the eyelashes.

  5. For the deer: Using a fine tip paintbrush, add 1 small dot to eyes and nose in cotton ball.

  6. For the raccoon: Paint the raccoon's face and ears in the middle of the rock using dolphin.

  7. For the raccoon: Paint a circle for the raccoon’s snout in cotton ball.

  8. For the raccoon: Paint the raccoon's mask in steel grey.

  9. For the raccoon: Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the eyes and nose in black tie.
    Step 8 Example
  10. For the raccoon: Using a fine tip paintbrush, add 1 small dot to eyes (and nose) in cotton ball.

  11. For the bunny: Mix together cotton ball with a very small amount of cocoa bean and paint the bunny face and ears in the middle of the rock.

  12. For the bunny: Paint one circle for the bunny’s snout in cotton ball.

  13. For the bunny: Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the eyes in black tie.

  14. For the bunny: Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the nose and inner ears in pink cadillac.

  15. For the bunny: Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the mouth in black tie and add 1 small dot to eyes and nose in cotton ball.
