- sandpaper
- pencil
- 1/2" flat brush
- small round brush
- 1" sponge brush
- 3" flat brush
- wood shape
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- If needed, sand surface and wipe with paper towel.
- Using a 3" flat brush, apply a coat of Primitive. Apply a second coat if needed.
- Using Vintage color paint and Old French Script stencil, add a bit of background texture to your sign. Place the stencil on surface, dab paint lightly on the stencil, but do not cover all the cut out spaces. Paint lightly to prevent messy blobs of paint when stenciling. Move the stencil around the board as desired.
- Using a pencil, lightly draw the word of choice in a script writing style.
- Using a small round brush and Rouge paint, paint the word. Optionally, add a little bit of Heritage for accent.
- Use a small flat brush and Carbon paint, add rough lines around the edge of your sign to create a border. Optionally, add accents to the word art with same paint and brush.
- Lightly sand edges of board and various places around word art (optional). Use a damp paper towel to clean up dust.
- Finish the piece with Ultra Matte Varnish to seal work.
