Woodland-Themed Table Centerpiece

Build a woodland-themed tablescape for fall gatherings with Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- 1" flat brush
- liner brush
- artificial or real pumpkin
- pinecones
- small flat brush
- medium round brush
- wood round slice
- makeup sponge
- white color pencil
- large acorns
- medium acorns
- squirrel
- papier-mâché pumpkin
INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a large flat brush, paint the wood round with Neutral Grey, leaving the raw edge unpainted.
- Using a makeup sponge, dab on Canyon Orange onto the squirrel. Allow to dry. Dab on a second coat for even coverage. Allow to dry. If needed, add a third coat with a brush for a solid coverage. Allow to dry.
- Paint half of the acorns with Avocado and half with with Celery Green. Allow to dry.
- Using a medium round brush, paint one of the oversized acorns with Celery Green. Let dry and add a second coat for even coverage.
- Paint the other oversized acorn with Avocado and allow to dry. Apply a second coat for even coverage. Allow to dry completely.
- Using a medium flat brush, paint the large pumpkin with Blue Mist. Allow to dry. Apply second coat of paint and allow to dry.
- Paint the medium pumpkin with Navy Blue. Allow to dry. Paint on a second coat for even coverage and allow to dry.
- For the first large acorn, draw on patterns with a white color pencil. (Use the patterns provided or come up with your own.) With a liner brush, paint lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- For the second large acorn, use the same technique as STEP 8: draw on patterns with a white color pencil, using the patterns provided or coming up with your own. With a liner brush, paint lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- For the medium pumpkin, draw on the patterns with a white color pencil. With a liner brush, paint lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- For the large pumpkin, draw on the patterns with a white color pencil. With a liner brush, paint lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- Make sure to paint a design that is continued on all sides of the pumpkins to add beauty from all angles.
- For the squirrel, draw on the patterns with a white color pencil and paint in the pattern lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- Make sure your design covers all angles of the squirrel.
- For the large wood slice, draw on the patterns with a white color pencil. (Use the patterns provided or come up with your own.) With a liner brush, paint lines with Cool White. Allow to dry.
- For the medium acorns, paint decorative elements using Cool White. (See photo for inspiration.) Allow to dry.
- Use Champagne to paint the stems of the large pumpkin, medium pumpkin, and large acorns. Allow to dry. (Apply a second coat, if needed.)
- Use Champagne to paint the tops and stems of the medium acorns. Allow to dry.
- Paint all the table décor pieces with Soft-Touch Varnish for a soft sheen and added protection.
- Add the table décor elements from other woodland-themed projects to make a full and festive tablescape.
