NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Transfer provided template onto a piece of watercolor paper using transfer paper. Transfer one fox and 2-3 mushrooms.
- Using a #3 round brush and 1/4" flat brush, paint the body of the fox in Burnt Orange, as shown.
- Using #3 round brush, paint the scarf in Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics in Cactus, Red Barn, and Soft Jade. Paint the tops of the mushrooms in Red Barn.
- Paint the legs and nose of the fox in Cocoa Bean. Use the end of the brush to dot the eyes in Black Tie.
- Using a craft knife of scissors, cut out the fox and mushrooms.
- Cut a piece of wood grain scrapbook paper to fit the container. Use a 1" flat brush or a foam brush to spread Americana Matte Decou-Page onto the container. Position paper and remove any wrinkles or bubbles with your finger.
- Apply another layer of Decou-Page onto the surface of the scrapbook paper. While it is still wet, position fox and apply another coat of Decou-Page onto the fox. Repeat with mushrooms. Be sure to place them around the base of the can, leaving a 1/4" gap at the bottom for the moss to be placed.
- Use a hot glue gun to attach the moss around the bottom of the can and on the surface of the lid. Be sure to leave a small circle in the middle of the lid for the wood twig knob.
- Using a hot glue gun to adhere the wood twig onto the surface.
- Drill in a screw through the bottom of the lid to help the twig stay in place more securely.
- Use hot glue to attach berries and pinecones around the base of the twig. Tie raffia around the twig and add glue to hold it in place.
