  • sandpaper
  • stencil brush (Americana Stencil Brushes - DABK20)
  • 2" flat brush (Americana Decor)
  • hot glue gun (and clear glue sticks)
  • newspaper or dropcloth
  • unfinished wooden letters ("LOVE")
  • 1" angled brush (Americana Decor)
  • 1/8" ribbon (white)
  • wooden blocks (Hobby Lobby)


NOTES: Make sure the wooden blocks are sanded smooth prior to painting. Let the paint dry fully between layers for optimal coverage. Protect the working surface with newspaper or other disposable material. Wash the paintbrushes between colors and coats to keep the paint colors from mixing together.

  1. Paint each of the wooden letters with Champagne Gold. (You may need one or two layers to achieve complete coverage.)

  2. Paint the front and sides of the tallest block (10”) with Ruby. Let dry, then paint a second coat as needed.

  3. Paint the smallest block (6”) with Rose Quartz; the second smallest (8”) with Sterling Silver; and the second largest (9”) with Pink Tourmaline. Let dry completely.

  4. Apply the Old French Script stencil to the Sterling Silver-painted wooden block using Pink Tourmaline. Let dry.

  5. Apply the Hearts stencil to the Ruby-painted wooden block using Sterling Silver. Let dry.

  6. Glue the letters onto the wooden blocks to spell LOVE.

  7. Add a small white ribbon above the O.
