Wood Grain Cookie Container with Fox Tag

Decou-Page a recycled container into a new gift filled with cookies created with Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • tape
    • 1/4" flat brush
    • craft glue
    • bottle or round container
    • paper tag
    • leather cord
    • 1 piece of scrapbook paper
    • cotton tip swab
    • wood shape
    • cork

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. With a damp paper towel, thoroughly clean the inside of the container. Cut a piece of wood-patterned scrapbook paper to fit the container of choice.

    3. Apply a thin, even layer of Americana Matte Decou-Page around the outside of the container.

    5. Wrap the paper around the container. Gently smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles with your fingers. Apply a thin, even coat of Decou-Page over the scrapbook paper.

    7. Paint the outside of the lid with two coats of Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics in Cactus. Allow the paint to dry completely betwen coats.

    9. Paint a cork with Red Barn.

    11. Use a cotton swab to do Soft Jade and Cocoa Bean around the outside of the lid, alternating between the colors. Make a circle of dots of Cocoa Bean near the center of the lid. See photo as placement reference.

    13. Using craft glue, adhere the cork to the center of the top of the lid.

    15. Line the top and bottom of the container with red glittered tape.

    17. Paint wooden snowflakes in Cotton Ball. Using craft glue, adhere snowflakes onto container.

    19. On a pre-made tag, paint the background in Soft Jade. Once dried, add dots of Red Barn along the edges using a cotton swab. Tie leather cording through the hole.

    21. Attach the tag to the cork on the lid of the container.
