Color-Filled Wonderland Vase

This flea market find, painted in the style of Mackenzie Childs, will add flair to your dècor.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- vase
- #6 flat brush
- #10 flat brush
- #5 round brush
- #6 round brush
- 3/4" rake brush
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let paint dry in between steps.
- Paint 1-1/2" section of the vase bottom Razzle Berry with a 3/4" rake brush.
- Using a 3/4" rake brush, paint Black and White stripes up the vase.
- Paint 1/2" wide borders of stripes on the vase top and bottom using Antique Gold and the #10 flat brush.
- Go over the Antique Gold borders with two coats of Glorious Gold with a #6 round brush.
- Leaving a 1/2" border at the very top, paint the upper section Calypso Blue using the 3/4" rake brush.
- With a #10 flat brush, paint 1-1/4" wide Indian Turquoise diamonds around the vase over the Calypso Blue section.
- Using a #6 flat brush, paint the vase top Black.
- Outline the Antique Gold sections and diamonds using a #6 round brush and Black.
- With a #6 round brush and Black, draw an X design inside the bands of Antique Gold. Paint a pattern of three Xs and then a dot, repeating if desired.
- Paint 1/4" circles where each diamond meets another using a #5 round brush and Black.
- Randomly paint 1/4" Black polka dots in the Razzle Berry section with a #5 round brush.
- Using a #5 round brush, fill in the little circles with Razzle Berry and make tiny dots around the bottom of the Black band.
- Make a loose checker pattern in Black and White around the top vase edge using a #6 flat brush.
- Using a #10 flat brush, randomly dry-brush Antique Gold on the White stripes for an aged effect
- Make tiny White dots using a #5 round brush around each outlined diamond.
