    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Dampen a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and clean the wine bottle. Spread a thin, even layer of White Gesso onto the bottle using a 1" flat brush.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Mix a 1:1 ratio of Cobalt Blue Hue and White Gesso. (Do not blend completely; allow various shades of Cobalt Blue Hue to show.) Pick up the various colors with a 1" flat brush and paint the remainder of the bottle, painting around the bottle, instead of up and down.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Adhere the decorative trim around the bottle where the Cobalt Blue Hue and the Cobalt Blue Hue mix meet. Refer to photo.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Draw butterfly wings on a piece of musical scrapbook paper or use the provided pattern. Cut out the wings and paint using a 1/2" flat brush and Hansa Yellow Medium and Pyrrole Red.
    8. While the wings are drying, paint a simple, curved butterfly body using Carbon Black and a 1/4" shader brush. Once the wings are dry, crumple, unfold, and adhere them to the bottle, near the butterfly body. Use Matte Medium to adhere, being sure to add Matte Medium to the top and bottom of the wings. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to add dots around the wings. Use a fine tip marker to add a few doodles.
    9. Instruction #5
    10. Adhere jewels around the bottle. Mix Cobalt Blue Hue and White Gesso 3:2 and use to randomly paint some of the jewels.
    11. Instruction #6
    12. Adhere jewels and pearls to the flower centers of the trim. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to add dots staggered along the top of the decorative trim and bottle.
    13. Instruction #7
    14. Wrap colored string around the bottle neck and tie to prevent unraveling. Hang several charms from the string.
