Whimsically Colorful Pot and Stake

A colorful pot and whimsical plant stake add a cheerful note to the indoors or outdoors.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • pencil
    • 1" flat brush
    • thick white glue
    • #0 liner brush
    • 6" square wooden plate
    • 4-1/2" to 5" terra cotta pot
    • 2" wooden ball, cut in half
    • 2" square block with dowel hole
    • wooden dowel rods (choice of length)
    • tacks
    • strips of green fabric
    • Styrofoam
    • flower moss

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Basecoat the wooden plate Cotton Ball.
    2. Mark the checks with a pencil and paint every other one Black Tie.
    3. Base the largest circle on the plate with Turquoise Waters. Let dry.
    4. When the circle is dry, dot on Lavender Fields with the handle end of a brush.
    5. Base the center circle Blue Bird; let dry.
    6. Base half of the wooden ball Orange Sherbet and let dry.
    7. With a #0 liner brush, add stitching details to the plate and the circle of flowers in the center of the plate with Black Tie.
    8. Glue half of the wooden ball onto the center of the flower (off center) and nail four or five tacks to the center of half the wooden ball.
    9. Finish painting the center of the flower (stamen) with a #0 liner brush and Black Tie.
    10. Paint the dowel and 2” square block Turf Green. Let dry.
    11. Tie green fabric strip around the dowel for “leaves”.
    12. Basecoat the terra cotta pot Chartreuse. Add dots of Cotton Ball, using finger.
    13. Paint the top edge of the pot School Bus. Let dry.
    14. Paint stripes, using a 1" flat brush and Flamingo, around the rim of the pot. Let dry.
    15. Secure the dowel into the hole of the square block.
    16. Add Styrofoam to the pot, cover with the flower moss, and insert the flower dowel.
