Whimsical Wooden Easter Coasters

These bright and whimsical coasters, painted with Americana® Acrylics, are such a fun addition to your spring décor.
SUPPLIES
- palette or plastic plate
- stylus or pencil
- scissors
- Sharpie® marker
- wooden coasters
- detail brush
- felt
- medium and small flat brush
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Some steps may require several coats.
- Using a medium flat brush, paint the top flat surface of each coaster in Blue Chiffon.
- Paint the edges of the coasters with Royal Fuchsia, Lavender, Calypso Blue, or Coral, using a small flat brush.
- Cut out the bunny pattern and grass from the provided pattern. Trace with a pencil onto each coaster.
- Using a small flat brush and Olive Green, paint in the background grass and allow to dry completely. When dry, use a small detail brush and Festive Green to paint in fun designs and patterns onto the grass.
- Using a small flat brush, paint one bunny each using the same four colors used on the coaster edges, mixing up the colors: Paint a Coral bunny onto the Calypso Blue coaster; a Royal Fuchsia onto the Lavender; a Calypso Blue bunny onto Royal Fuchsia; and a Lavender bunny onto the Coral coaster. Using a small detail brush, add stripes, dots, swirls, flowers, etc. onto the bunnies, in a contrasting color.
- Using a small detail brush and Cadmium Yellow and Cool White, paint in a sun and cloud on each coaster. With a marker, outline each bunny with the coordinating color. Using the dark green marker, outline the grass and and the shapes in the grass. Add in fun swirls, dots, etc. to highlight all the patterns used on the grass.
- Trace the coasters onto the felt and cut four squares. Use a medium brush to adhere with Decou-page. If any edges are showing, they can be trimmed with a small pair of scissors.
- After all surfaces have dried completely, use a medium flat brush with Gloss Decor-Page to paint a light coating over the entire top flat surface. Allow to dry completely.
- Repeat, adding two more coats and allowing to dry in between coats.
