INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix Titanium White with Cobalt Teal Hue 2:1. Using a 3/4" flat brush, randomly paint the middle area of the canvas. Without cleaning the brush, paint the rest of the canvas in Cobalt Teal Hue.
  2. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint a section of the canvas in Prussian Blue Hue. (This process requires the paint to be wet, so it's best to work in sections.) Immediately splatter water over the paint. Let set for about two minutes and blot dry with a paper towel. (This technique will reveal the colors underneath.)
    Step 1 Example
  3. Continue the process from Steps 1-2 throughout the entire canvas.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Paint assorted scrapbook papers in Green Gold using a 3/4" flat brush. (This color is transparent allowing the pattern of the paper to show through) Tear the paper into the shapes of hills.
    Step 3 Example
  5. Place the hills on the bottom of the canvas. Once you are happy with the arrangement, use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere in place with Matte Medium.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Use a #8 round brush to paint the scrapbook paper with all of the colors listed with the exception of Prussian Blue Hue and Titanium White. (Add plenty of water to the paintbrush and let the colors blend). Trace the house patterns with a pencil and cut pieces out with scissors. (The number of houses is optional, this piece happens to have a total of 12.)
    Step 5 Example
  7. Use a #8 round brush to outline the hills in Phthalo Green-Yellow. Let dry. Place the houses on the hills. Once you are happy with the arrangement, use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere in place with Matte Medium. Use a #8 round brush to paint the windows in Hansa Yellow Medium and the doors in a contrasting color of your choice.
    Step 6 Example
  8. Use a pencil to trace the pig pattern onto the pink scrapbook paper. Cut out with scissors. Find wings online, print out, and cut out with scissors.
    Step 7 Example
  9. Place the pigs on the canvas. Once you are happy with the arrangement, adhere in place using a 3/4" flat brush with Matte Medium.
