  1. Start with an old set of patio chairs that need a new look.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Remove old canvas fabric and hardware from chairs and foot rests. Take notice and make notes of how chair is fitting together, this will make reassembly easier.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Prime the surface by sanding any old, chipping paint away and creating a new, smooth surface. Wipe away an dust with a damp paper towel.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Paint Honeydew onto entire wood surface with a 1" flat brush. Work paint into porous surface.
    Step 3 Example
  5. Using old chair fabric as a pattern, measure and cut new outdoor fabric for chairs and foot rests. Make it slightly larger so the edges can be sewed.
    Step 4 Example
  6. With sewing machine, turn under side edges and stitch fabric for both chairs and foot rests. Turn under and sew castings for dowels.
    Step 5 Example
  7. Create two small pillows in desired size in coordinating fabric.
  8. Before stuffing pillows, print nautical graphics onto iron-on transfer paper according to packaging instructions. Iron onto front of pillow forms. Optionally: use stencil of choice and coordinating Multi-Surface color instead of iron-on. Stuff pillow forms and hand sew open edge.
    Step 7 Example
  9. Add rope trim by hand stitching along edge.
    Step 8 Example
  10. Place fabric onto wood chairs and foot rests. Secure hardware back onto footrests.
