SUPPLIES

DecoArt® Fluid Art Ready to Pour™

  • Bright Yellow (DFA08)
  • Dark Aquamarine (DFA10)
  • Jet Black (DFA20)
  • Lavender (DFA16)
  • True Red (DFA03)
  • Vivid Orange (DFA06)
  • White (DFA01)

Other supplies

  • sandpaper (fine grit)
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun (and clear glue sticks)
  • cardboard
  • wire (approximately 16"- for legs)
  • plastic cup (small, disposable)
  • lid (from coffee creamer)
  • small paintbrush

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut off the coffee creamer lid and lightly sand.

  2. Trace the lid onto a piece of cardboard. Cut out the shape. Cut out a head shape from the cardboard as well. Cut the wire into eight legs.

  3. Bend the wire legs and arrange onto the cardboard body. (See photo.)

  4. With hot glue, glue the legs and head into place.

  5. Check to make sure everything fits and is ready to be painted.

  6. Pour hot glue into a puddle onto the head shape to make the head more dimensional. Let cool.

  7. Pour on White onto the spider's body.

  8. In a small cup, prepare a "dirty pour", beginning with Vivid Orange.

  9. Add Bright Yellow.

  10. Add Lavender.

  11. Pour the cup of paints in a circular motion onto the creamer lid. Leave some paint in the cup for STEP 13.

  12. Pour more paint directly onto the spider's body, including True Red.

  13. Pour the paint left over in the cup onto the spider legs for stripes. Allow to dry completely.

  14. Pour a small oval of Dark Aquamarine onto the top of the spider body. Drag a palette knife through the paint to create a design.

  15. Add drips of Red to the top. Allow to dry completely

  16. Once dry, glue the creamer lid to the body and allow to cool completely. Bend the legs as desired.

  17. With a small brush, add eyes with Black and White. Allow to dry.
