Upcycle toilet paper rolls into storage and paper plates into mixed media art with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • scissors
    • cardboard
    • craft glue
    • small and medium brushes
    • plastic cup
    • paper plate
    • toilet paper rolls

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Use scissors to make two diagonal cuts in the center of the toilet paper roll. (See photo.)
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Trace the bottom of the toilet paper roll onto the cardboard and cut out the circle shape slightly smaller than the roll so it fits inside. Adhere in place with craft glue. Let dry.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Use a medium-sized brush to paint the roll in any color of choice from the Americana Acrylics line. Let dry. Once dry, use a small brush to add little Titanium White accents throughout, using short brush-strokes. Cut a clear plastic cup vertically into thirds. (I found that one medium-sized cup works for three toilet paper rolls.) Place the plastic cup piece inside the roll to create a clear "peek-a-boo" window.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Fill the peek-a-boo toilet paper containers with craft embellishments.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Create mixed media art with the paper plates. Use a medium brush to paint the plates in your favorite colors. Let dry. Use craft glue to add embellishments of your choice.
