Twitter and Tweet Birdhouse

The word is that this trendy birdhouse will add color and fun to your home dècor.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- scissors
- pencil
- #3 round brush
- 3/4" flat brush
- wooden birdhouse
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- small wooden square
- two 2" pieces of ribbon: 1 light blue and 1 dark blue
- paper cut-outs of words
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to basecoat the birdhouse: walls, Blue Bahama; and roof, base, and perch, Hydrangea Blue.
- Trace and transfer the bird designs and squiggles onto the birdhouse walls with a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers.
- Use a #3 round brush with Summer Sky Blue for the bird's body; Cloud White for hair, eye, and belly; Hydrangea Blue for beak and back wing; and Wrought Iron Black for eye pupils on birds on front and right side
- Use the same brush and Hydrangea Blue for the squiggle on front, entrance, and houses on the left side.
- Use a #3 round brush and Cloud White for the windows on the houses.
- On the left side, use the same brush with Summer Sky Blue for bird and grass; Cloud White for eyes and shell; Blue Bahama for "Tweet" and egg highlights; and Wrought Iron Black for eyes.
- On the back, use a #3 round brush with Summer Sky Blue to fill in the bird. Use same brush and Hydrangea Blue to fill in the words. Outline the words with Summer Sky Blue.
- Print off or cut out Tweeter or Internet slang words.
- Apply Americana Matte Decou-Page with a 3/4" flat brush onto the roof and the paper words. Position and adhere the paper words onto the roof randomly and add more Decou-Page to seal.
- Adhere a word or phrase to the wooden square. Twist together ribbon pieces and adhere the ends to the back of the square with hot glue. Hang the square on the perch.
