Thanksgiving Turkey Napkin Holder Crate

Celebrate Thanksgiving with a napkin crate made with Americana® Gel Stains and Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • feathers
    • clean cloth
    • wooden crate
    • paintbrushes
    • wood rounds

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Lightly sand the crate and wipe off sawdust. Working in small sections, paint the crate panels with Oak Gel Stain. Wipe off the gel immediately with a clean cloth. Set the crate aside to dry.

    3. Sand the wood rounds smooth and paint the medium wood round in Burnt Sienna and the smaller wood round in Country Red. Allow to dry and apply a second coat.

    5. Once dry, hot glue the small wood round on top of the medium wood round. (See photo for placement.) Using Saffron Yellow, paint the eyes, beak, and wings. Use Pumpkin to paint the turkey's snood. Use Country Red, Saffron Yellow, Pumpkin, and Coral Blush to paint the feathers on the stomach. Allow to dry. Hot glue the feathers to the back.

    7. Once the glue on the feathers is dry, hot glue the turkey to the crate. Use on the table to hold napkins or utensils.
