A trio of summer pastels adds interest to a concrete planter for the patio or garden.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• painter's tape
• #12 flat brush
• small concrete planter

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Make sure the planter surface is clean and dust free.

2. Tear painter's tape to make geometric designs. (I wanted the shapes to almost overlap so I did the designs one section at a time.) Press the tape firmly down with fingers.

3. Use a #12 flat brush and Coastal Surf to fill in the section. Rinse brush. Remove tape.

4. Tear new pieces of tape to make another shape that is asymmetrical. Press the tape down firmly with fingers. Use a #12 flat brush and Coral Sunset to fill in that shape. Rinse brush. Remove tape.

5. Make a third shape with painter's tape. Press tape down firmly with fingers.

6. Use a #12 flat brush and Honeydew to fill in the last shape. Rinse brush. Remove tape.
