INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. If the box has any dents or markers, fill in the areas with wood filler and allow to dry completely. Sand to smooth. Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the inside and outside of the box with White Gesso.

2. Cut a piece of lace fabric large enough to wrap around the sides of the box and a small piece for the top of the box. Brush Matte Medium onto the box, press the lace into the box, then coat the lace with another layer of Matte Medium. Repeat to add the lace onto the lid of the box. Allow the Matte Medium to dry completely. Use scissors to trim the dried lace, if necessary.

3. Use a screwdriver or electric drill to add holes in the box for the drawer pull and label bracket. Use a hot glue gun to add paper flowers, laser-cut wooden pieces, chipboard pieces, buttons, and any other desired elements onto the front, left side, and lid of the box.

4. Coat the box and all texture elements with White Gesso. Allow the Gesso to dry completely. Coat the entire box and all elements in Titanium White.

5. Use the Turquoise (Shimmer) and White (Shimmer) Media Misters to spray color onto the sides and top of the box. (The textured areas of the box should be Turquoise while the smoother areas of the box are primarily Titanium White.)

6. Place some Titanium White onto a palette or plastic plate. Use a finger to dab a little paint over the smooth areas of the box and over the tops of the texture areas, omitting the flowers. Rub some Titanium White into the flower centers.

7. Use a #3 round brush to paint some of the laser-cut and chipboard pieces with two coats of Gold (Metallic). Allow to dry. Paint two coats of Chocolate (Metallic) onto the areas previously painted Gold (Metallic).
8. Add the drawer pull onto the lid. (Depending on the thickness of the box, you may need to purchase shorter screws.) Add the label bracket onto the front of the box using scrapbook brads. Cut a piece of cardstock to fit the label bracket and use a fine point permanent marker to freehand "treasures" onto the cardstock. Insert into the bracket.

9. Measure the inside of the box and cut newsprint scrapbook paper to fit the lid, sides, and bottom. Use the 3/4" flat brush to brush Matte Medium onto the bottom of the box. Press the scrapbook paper into place. (To get wrinkles within the scrapbook paper, immediately coat the paper with more Matte Medium. If you prefer a smooth finish, allow the Matte Medium under the scrapbook paper to dry completely before adding another coat of Matte Medium on the top of the paper to seal it.)

10. Mix a few drops of Cobalt Teal Hue and Phthalo Turquoise with a small dab of Matte Medium. Brush the mix over the entire inside of the box. Brush Phthalo Turquoise into the corners to add some shadows. Allow this to dry completely. Dry-brush some Titanium White into the opposite corners to add some highlights.

11. Cut a piece of lace to fit the inside of the lid of the box. Use the 3/4" flat brush to brush Matte Medium onto the inside of the lid. Press the lace into the Matte Medium; apply another layer of Matte Medium to the top of the lace.

12. Use a hot glue gun to glue embellishments onto the inside of the box lid.

13. Repeat the previous steps for coloring the outside of the box (steps 5-7) to color the inside of the box.

14. Refer to photo for completed inside box.
