Painted Crate Toy Box

Make a toy box with a hi-tech look
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- stylus or pencil
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- sandpaper
- ruler
- 1-1/2" flat brush
- 1/2" flat brush
- #4 flat brush
- drill and drill bits
- 1 inch blue painters tape
- 3/4" flat brush
- e-6000 adhesive
- 1-1/4" wood screws
- wood crate-Michaels
- 4 round plaques-Michaels
- 4 rectangle plaques-Michaels
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Optional: If nail/staple holes are deep, fill holes with wood filler and sand before painting. Allow paint to dry between steps.
- From bottom corner, use ruler and pencil to measure and mark 6". Position and adhere painters tape from mark to top corner creating diagonal sections on each side of crate.
- Use 3/4 flat brush to paint center section White.
- When White is dry, move tape over to paint Grey corner sections leaving a small stripe for red accent.
- Use 1/2" flat brush and Red to paint stripes and 4 stars.
- Use 1-1/2" brush and grey to paint inside crate.
- Use 3/4 flat brush and Black to paint wheels. When dry, attach with screws.
- Basecoat rectangle plaques with Grey. When dry paint with Metallic Silver.
- Trace and transfer lettering on plaques then use #4 flat and black to paint.
- Position and adhere plaques and stars on crate with E-6000 adhesive.
