"The Beach is Calling" Hanging Sign

Answer the call of Summer with this beach sign created with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.
SUPPLIES
- transfer paper
- sandpaper
- pencil
- flat brush
- small chip brush
- round brush
- wooden pallet
- E6000 Glue
- laser-cut shape
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Lightly sand any areas, if needed.
- With a chip brush, lightly brush on Legacy fading to Refreshing onto the pallet, working from top to bottom. (Leave the bottom slat as is.)
- Draw in simple waves on the second to the bottom slat. (Or use the provided pattern.) With a flat brush, fill in the area with Legacy.
- On the bottom slat, draw in more simple waves. Fill in with Escape on a medium flat brush.
- Temporarily set the "hello sunshine" sun onto the top right corner as desired. Sketch in. (Or transfer the provided pattern onto the slats.) With a medium round brush, paint in the lettering in Everlasting.
- Paint the "hello sunshine" shape in Delicate with a flat brush. Let dry. Once dry, heavily sand it to reveal the wood below.
- Use E6000 Glue to adhere the sun into place.
- Apply a coat of Ultra-Matte Varnish to entire piece with a flat brush.
