  • painter's or masking tape (optional)
  • white pencil

NOTE: Let dry between coats

  1. Pre-wash and dry shirts (do not use fabric softener). Tape wax paper/freezer paper to cardboard and place inside shirt (to prevent paint from seeping through the back side of the shirt)
  2. Use a white pencil to draw the designs onto the shirts. "The Masterpiece" on intended child's size and "The Artist" on mom's size.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Using #8 round pencil paint the letters with two coats of white. Add third coat if needed.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Using #8 round pencil paint the girl (and the artist on the other shirt) with two coats of white. Add third coat if needed.
    Step 3 Example
  5. Using #8 round brush paint the inner parts for the letters, hat and bows with one coat of white. (this will give you a base for the next step)
  6. Using #8 round brush add color by painting the inner part of the areas with two coats of . . Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue and Green (refer to image for placement)
  7. Let dry 48 hours. Wash on gentle cycle. Hang dry.

It will save you time to paint both shirts simultaneously as the same colors are used in both designs.

The same design can be used on white shirts - Simple use black paint instead of white.
