SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- #3 round brush
- 1/2" stroke brush
- 4-1/4" terra cotta rose pot and saucer
- 2" sky wash brush
- berry maker
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Wipe the entire surface of the pot and saucer clean. (Any dust or debris can cause poor paint adhesion.)
- Paint the entire pot Geranium Red.
- Add dimension to design by blending Holly Berry Red and a small amount of Wrought Iron Black in area right behind where the ladybug's head will be painted.
- Paint Wrought Iron Black half-circle (about 3" wide by 1.5" high) on pot.
- Paint eyes Cloud White. When dry, add smaller Wrought Iron Black circle in Cloud White area, followed by another very small Cloud White dot for reflection. (See photo for placement.)
- Use Wrought Iron Black to paint antennae, legs, and dots on the ladybug's back.
- Add dots to pot rim with Wrought Iron Black and either a small berry maker or the handle end of a paintbrush.
- Mix 1 part Wrought Iron Black with 2 parts Holly Berry Red. Paint the saucer with the mixture.
