SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • #3 round brush
    • 1/2" stroke brush
    • 4-1/4" terra cotta rose pot and saucer
    • 2" sky wash brush
    • berry maker

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Wipe the entire surface of the pot and saucer clean. (Any dust or debris can cause poor paint adhesion.)
    2. Paint the entire pot Geranium Red.
    3. Add dimension to design by blending Holly Berry Red and a small amount of Wrought Iron Black in area right behind where the ladybug's head will be painted.
    4. Paint Wrought Iron Black half-circle (about 3" wide by 1.5" high) on pot.
    5. Paint eyes Cloud White. When dry, add smaller Wrought Iron Black circle in Cloud White area, followed by another very small Cloud White dot for reflection. (See photo for placement.)
    6. Use Wrought Iron Black to paint antennae, legs, and dots on the ladybug's back.
    7. Add dots to pot rim with Wrought Iron Black and either a small berry maker or the handle end of a paintbrush.
    8. Mix 1 part Wrought Iron Black with 2 parts Holly Berry Red. Paint the saucer with the mixture.
