Summer Nights Metallic Sign

Oh, those summer nights, shining from a sign painted using Extreme Sheen™ paint.

SUPPLIES

    • sandpaper
    • pencil
    • craft paintbrushes
    • LED string lights
    • wooden pallet
    • drill and drill bits

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Prep surface by lightly sanding the wooden pallet sign. (This AC Moore surface has a light white wash to it, but you can add a second coat of white if desired. I used Americana Acrylics in Snow White.)
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Using the project photo as a guide, hand-draw the lettering and pineapple on the sign. Using 24K Gold, paint the base of the pineapple.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Blend Aquamarine and 24K Gold for the green pineapple top. For the letters, use Pink Tourmaline. Blend Aquamarine and 24K Gold and apply arrows in an angled row to give the pineapple texture. Outline the pineapple in Aquamarine.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. To highlight the letters, create a shadow with Aquamarine and outline with 24K Gold. (If you would like to give this fun summer sign a pop of light for a backyard gathering, drill holes big enough for the LED string lights to be pushed through the back. Insert the lights.)
