Create this cute summer girl wall art and welcome the summer

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #8 round brush
    • ribbon to match
    • assorted scrapbook paper
    • Silhouette electronic cutting machine
    • 9" x 12" basswood canvas

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let the paint dry between steps.

    1. Using 3/4 flat brush paint the front of the canvas panel in Blue Haven. Rinse brush and using the same brush, paint the sides Burnt Umber. Wipe of some the the burnt umber from the brush and dry brush the front (edges only, refer to photo). Set aside and let dry.
    2. Use a cosmetic sponge to randomly stencil doily patterns in Coral Shell
    3. Cut pattern out on various scrapbook paper (refer to photo) using Silhouette Cutting Electronic Machine, following manufacturer's instructions.
    4. Start putting together the little girl in these steps using 3/4 flat brush and decou-page. 1. Body on top of hair 2. Oval piece of hat behind the head/hair 3. Top part of hat on top of head/hair. 4. Swim suit on top of body.
    5. Cut slit on the tote bag handle and place around the arm, decou-page on using 3/4 flat brush.
    6. Place girl and top banner onto the wood canvas. Once they are in place begin to adhere to canvas using 3/4 flat brush and decou-page.
    7. Using #8 round brush paint accents (refer to photo for color placement) Coral Shell, Blue Haven first, followed by the word "Summer" and the sunglasses in Burnt Umber.
    8. Cut out flowers from scrapbook paper and decou-page one to the tote bag and one to the hat.
    9. Seal entire surface with one coat of decou-page.
    10. Cut ribbon (approx 54 inches, depending on how large you'd like the bow). Use craft glue to adhere the ribbon to the bottom and two side and tie bow.
