Americana Decor® Chalky Finish™ Paint

  • Carbon (ADC29)
  • Delicate (ADC11)
  • Relic (ADC28)
  • Serene (ADC18)

Other supplies

  • transfer paper
  • cardboard (or plastic )
  • 1" sponge brush
  • Silhouette electronic cutting machine (Silhouette America)
  • stencil (of choice)
  • canvas tote bag

  1. Prepare the tote bag surface, clearing any debris or wash, if necessary.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Cut out the provided pattern using a Silhouette electronic cutting machine. Lay out the desired stencil.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Using the transfer paper, apply the negative of the stencil to the bag's surface. If using a very porous surface, you will want to put something, such as cardboard or a sheet of plastic, on the opposite side of the surface to pick up any paint that may bleed through the surface.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Paint the desired colors onto the stencil. (Shown: Relic, Carbon, Delicate, and Serene.) (Be sure the stencil is firmly applied prior to painting each section. If not, the paint could bleed underneath the stencil.)
