Stenciled Spring Table Centerpiece

Get ready for the coming of spring with a table centerpiece painted with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • painter's tape
    • 2" flat brush
    • cloth
    • wood glue
    • drawer pull
    • drill and small drill bit
    • 1" stencil brush
    • wood stain
    • clamp
    • pocket screws
    • wood boards
    • Kreg jig

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Cut 1" x 6" wood board into (3) pieces that measure 28-1/2" and (2) that measure 7". Sand any rough edges of all the wood pieces.

    3. Drill pocket holes. (Refer to photo as a guide.)

    5. Assemble the box sides using wood glue and 1-1/4" pocket screws. (Use clamps as needed.)

    7. Attach the base of the box using the same pocket screws as the sides.
    8. Stain the entire box in a desired dark stain. Let dry completely.

    10. Line up the Americana Decor Classic Quatrefoil Stencil and begin stenciling with Lace, using a 1" stencil brush. Use painter's tape to hold down the stencil, if needed.

    12. Once finished with the first portion of the stencil, line up the stencil so the pattern continues. Stencil one side of the box.

    14. Paint the other two sides as well as the top edge and inside of the box in Lace using a 2" flat brush. Let dry.

    16. Once dry, stencil on the solid painted side using the Americana Decor Olde World Numbers Stencil and Relic. Let dry.

    18. Once dry, sand and distress so the stain underneath begins to show through. (You can do as little or as much distressing as you would like.) Wipe away any sanding dust using a damp paper towel.

    20. Open the hardware drawer pulls package and reserve the short screws. (Discard the longer screws).

    22. Measure, mark, and pre-drill holes for the screws using a drill bit slightly smaller than the screws themselves.

    26. Fill with greenery or other filler and change as the seasons change.
