Bright South American Terra Cotta Pot

Take a trip to the Southern Hemisphere with this Patio Paint Outdoor-colorful terra cotta pot.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • #6 flat brush
    • #0 liner brush
    • 1" sponge brush
    • 8" standard terra cotta pot
    • stylus or toothpick

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Allow to dry between painting steps.

    1. Trace and transfer the design onto the terra cotta pot.
    2. Use a #6 flat brush to paint the sun face and rays Marigold; the large petals, Holly Berry Red; the small petals, Tiger Lily Orange; and the background and rim band, Blue Bahama.
    3. Use a #0 liner brush and Wrought Iron Black to outline the petals and the background shape. Also paint the eyes, nose, and mouth on the sun.
    4. Use a stylus or toothpick to add dots of Cloud White to the Wrought Iron Black lines.
    5. Use a #0 liner brush and Mistletoe Green to paint three strokes between the petal ends.
    6. Use a sponge brush to coat entire pot, inside and out, with Clear Coat.
