INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Using the transfer paper, transfer the snow globe pattern onto a piece of watercolor paper.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Using a 1/4" flat brush, paint the bottom portion of the snow globe Raw Umber. Mix together a small amount of Prussian Blue Hue with Raw Umber. Use the same brush and the mix to paint the outside and bottom shaded areas. Mix together a small amount of Titanium White with Raw Umber. Use the 1/4" flat brush to paint the highlights with the new mix.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Water down a small amount of Prussian Blue Hue. Using a 3/4" flat brush, use clean water to wet the round area of the snow globe. Using the same brush, apply the watered down Prussian Blue Hue.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Using the transfer paper, transfer the snowman, trees, and lettering patterns to the snow globe.
  5. Using a palette knife or #6 flat brush (whichever you have more control with), apply Snow-Tex to the ground and snowman.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Using a #1 round brush, paint in the trees using Sap Green: Begin at the top of the tree; place brush at the ending point of the branch, and swoop up to the top of the tree in one fluid stroke. Use Raw Umber to paint in the tree trunk.
    Step 5 Example
  7. Using Carbon Black, fill in the snowman hat with a #1 round brush. Use the handle end of the brush to fill in eyes and buttons. Use the same brush to paint the arms in Raw Umber. Fill in the carrot using Pyrrole Orange.
  8. Using the #1 round brush, paint the dots and lettering in Silver (Metallic). Let dry. Once dry, cut out.
    Step 7 Example
  9. Using pop-up glue dots, adhere the globe onto a pre-cut blank card of choice (shown: silver).
