What Halloween would be complete without a nod to the infamous headless horseman?
SUPPLIES
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- sandpaper
- pencil
- 3/4" flat brush
- #4 round brush
- wooden oval plaque
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the entire plaque Heritage Brick.
- Use sandpaper or a sander on the plaque's top and edges. Wipe off any dust with a damp paper towel.
- Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer "Sleepy Hollow Tavern".
- Fill in the letters with Marigold and a #4 round brush.
- Trace and transfer the wood lines, headless horseman with moon, tree, grass, "Est. 1790", and "Where heads will Roll". Highlight the letters and fill in the moon with Pineapple.
- Add a few drops of water to Lamp Black and use to create a wood texture with lines and swirls using the #4 round brush.
- Use the #4 round brush and Lamp Black to fill in the headless horseman, tree, and grass.
- Use the same brush with Snow White to outline "Est. 1790" and "Where heads will Roll"
