Shabby Chic Fall Pumpkin

Add embellishments to a painted Styrofoam pumpkin for a stylish fall accent.

SUPPLIES

    • scissors
    • 2" chip brush
    • hot glue gun
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • medium foam pumpkin
    • burlap sheets
    • embellishments of choice
    • knob

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Make sure pumpkin is clean and dust free.

    3. Use a 3/4" flat brush to basecoat pumpkin with Relic. Rinse brush.

    5. Use a 2" chip brush to lightly dry-brush Lace over the entire pumpkin, leaving some Relic showing. Rinse brush.

    7. Use a 2" chip brush to repeat dry-brushed layer using Vintage, leaving the other two colors showing through. Use a 3/4" flat brush to basecoat the stem Timeless. Rinse brush.

    9. Use a 3/4" flat brush and load with Ultra-Matte Varnish to seal pumpkin. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
    10. Use scissors to cut ribbon or lace of your choice to fit the pumpkin. Glue to pumpkin. If you choose, add additional embellishments and glue to ribbon. (I added two old broaches and glued them to the ribbon.)

    12. Use scissors to cut out petals out of a burlap sheet.

    14. Glue petals onto the center of the ribbon. Add further embellishments, if desired. (I stuck a glass knob through the ribbon into the pumpkin.)
