NOTE: Allow Fabric Decou-Page to dry thoroughly before using tote bag.
Protect the work surface with waxed paper. Place a piece of cardboard inside the tote to prevent any possible seepage of Fabric Decou-Page or marker ink.
To prevent the fabric pieces from fraying, brush with an even coat of Fabric Decou-Page prior to cutting out the motifs. Let dry thoroughly.
Using the provided templates, trace the seahorse, waves, starfish, and sand dollar onto the reverse side of pieces of fabric and cut out. Also cut out tiny circles of varying sizes, to represent air bubbles.
Decide on the placement of the images before proceeding. Brush an even coat of Fabric Decou-Page onto the reverse side of each image, place on the tote, and use fingers to smooth out any wrinkles. Let dry thoroughly, then brush another even layer of Decou-Page onto the images. Let dry. Using pencil and tracing paper, trace the words "The Beach Is Calling" onto the tote.
Using a fine-tip permanent marker for fabric, draw over "The Beach Is Calling". Also use the marker to add an eye to the seahorse and details to the starfish and sand dollar.
Cut the pompon trim long enough to circle the top edge of the tote. Adhere with fabric glue. Use wooden clothespins to hold the trim in place until it is dry. Let the tote dry thoroughly before use.
