  • Micron 01 Fine Liner Pen in black

  • #10/0 liner brush

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Sand and seal the box and drawer fronts with Americana Primer & Sealer using the 3/4" flat brush.
  2. Basecoat the top of the box Primary Yellow with the 3/4" flat brush.
  3. Using the same brush, basecoat the bottom and the front of the box at sides with True Red.
  4. The crossbar that separates the drawers is based Light Buttermilk with the 1/2" flat brush.
  5. The sides of the box are painted Lamp Black with the 3/4" flat brush. The insides can be painted with any of the palette colors, also with the 3/4" flat brush.
  6. Paint the drawers inside and out with Lamp Black using the 3/4" flat brush; the drawer pulls are Primary Yellow and True Red with the 1/2" flat brush.
  7. Using the 1/2" flat brush, paint small Lamp Black checks on Light Buttermilk crossbar.
  8. Using the end of the stylus, add Light Buttermilk dots to the True Red sides.
  9. With a ruler, mark 1" and 1/4" along front edge of top. With 10/0 liner brush and Lamp Black, paint lines to mark the measurements. Add numbers with a liner pen.
  10. With a chalk pencil, write on drawers what you plan to put in them. (I used "rubber bands" and "paper clips".) On sides, use the chalk pencil to draw a cat face and the word "CAT" on one side and "A B C" on other side.
  11. Mist the cabinet with Americana Matte Spray Sealer to set the chalk. (Do not spray directly on chalk areas or it will dissolve and disappear. Rather, direct spray over an area and allow mist to fall onto surface. If you lose some chalk, let spray dry and then re-line areas that faded or simply paint all chalked designs with the #10/0 liner brush and Light Buttermilk.) Let dry.
  12. Once the spray sealer is dry, varnish the cabinet with several coats of DuraClear Matte Varnish.
