Posted by DecoArt on Mar 30th 2020
Materials for this journal, painted with Americana® Acrylics, are odds and ends found at home.
SUPPLIES
- scissors
- craft glue
- hole punch
- palette knife
- fabric scraps
- shaving cream
- binder ring
- embellishments
- cardstock
- cookie sheet
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place shaving cream on the cookie sheet and smooth out with a palette knife.
- Squirt out several colors of your choice onto the shaving cream; use any colors from the above list.
- Press the cardstock into shaving cream.
- Lift the cardstock and use a palette knife to swipe off the shaving cream, revealing the marbleized effect. Repeat this process for as many pages as you'd like for your journal. Let the pages dry.
- Use a hole punch to punch five holes on the left sides of the cardstock pages.
- Place the binder rings through all the pages and all five holes. Begin decorating the journal with magazine cut-outs and whatever "found objects" you have in your home.
- Try a fun cut-out window.
- You can even use a pocket from an old pair of jeans. Have fun and get creative with your scavenger hunt journal.
- Cut out strips of scrap fabric, about 3/4".
- Tie the strips of fabric to the binder rings: three per ring.
