    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Allow to dry between painting steps. The key to Scandinavian Christmas designs is that you keep it clean and simple. There aren’t a lot of details and not really any shading to speak of, which makes them a lot easier to make!

    1. Prepare your ornaments by cleaning and let dry completely with a sot dry cloth.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Carefully remove hangers by unscrewing the screw eyes from the top of each ornament. Set aside. Using the 3/4" flat brush, paint the Santa and soldier heads Flesh Tone. Paint the snowman head Snow White.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Paint all the hats Berry Red with the 1/4" flat brush.
    6. Paint the brim and top of Santa's cap Snow White with the #3/0 liner brush.
    7. Paint Santa's beard and hair Snow White with the #3/0 liner brush.
    8. Use an eraser end of a brand new pencil dipped in Coral Blush to dot on the cheeks for each ornament.
    9. Instruction #6
    10. Use the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in Lamp Black to dot on the eyes.
    11. Paint the snowman's nose Tangelo Orange with the #3/0 liner brush.
    12. Dip a toothpick in Snow White to accent the cheeks and eyes.
    13. For the soldier's hat, cut the end of toothpick to create thicker point. Dip in Snow White and dot around the top of the hat.
    14. Use an unaltered end of a toothpick to dot smaller Snow White dots around the bottom of the hat.
    15. Instruction #11
    16. Use a toothpick dipped in Antique Gold to add small dots to the larger Snow White dots on the soldier’s hat.
    17. With Snow White, add snowflake to the snowman’s hat using the toothpick: make one large dot in center, draw seven lines out from the center like a flower, and then add a dot to the end of each line. Finally, add a dot in between each line.
    18. Instruction #13
    19. Give all ornaments two coats of DuraClear Matte Varnish with the 1/4" flat brush.
    20. When completely dry, screw hangers back into the ornament tops.
