Scandinavian Mini Candleholder with Bird

Give your décor a Scandinavian accent with Americana® Acrylics on this mini candleholder.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- wood glue
- #4 flat brush
- silicon glue
- #0 spotter brush
- stylus or ballpoint pen
- 150-grit sandpaper
- 2" x 3-1/2" wooden bird
- brown paper bag
- 2" x 3" rectangular sign
- 3/4" candle cup with 1/4" hole
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Allow paint to dry between color, coats, and steps. Allow glue to dry between steps.
- Using a 150-grit sandpaper, sand the rectangular base smooth and remove dust with a damp paper towel.
- Using wood glue, center and glue the candle cup onto the base.
- Using a #4 flat brush, basecoat the candle cup and bird, Snow White and the rectangular base, Primary Red
- Using a piece of brown paper bag, sand the bird, base, and the candle cup smooth. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
- Copy the patterns onto the tracing paper and transfer to the bird and candle cup with the transfer paper underneath. Use a stylus or ballpoint pen to transfer the patterns.
- Using a #0 spotter brush, paint the strokework on the bird and candle cup with Primary Red.
- Using silicon glue, adhere the bottom front of the bird to the side of the base behind the candle cup.
