Santa Claus Silhouette Centerpiece

A centerpiece vase with an old-fashioned silhouette of St. Nick will add a formal element to your holiday décor.
SUPPLIES
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- rubbing alcohol
- scissors
- painter's tape
- #8 round brush
- Contac® paper
- 1" painter's tape
- black fine-point permanent marker
- glass vase
- cosmetic sponges
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let paint dry between steps.
- Wipe the vase clean with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol.
- Trace the oval shape on Contac paper and cut with scissors. Center and the press Contac paper into place on the vase. Use a cosmetic sponge and dab with White Frost Gloss. Peel off the Contac paper.
- Use painter's tape to mask off a 2" band all the way around the vase. (The width will depend on the size of the vase.) Refer to photo. Use a cosmetic sponge and dab the masked-off band with White Frost Gloss.
- Use painter's tape to mask off 1" stripes within the band and paint alternating stripes in White by dabbing with a cosmetic sponge.
- Use a #8 round brush to paint thin stripes between the White stripes in Tuscan Red.
- Print off the Santa silhouette and holly and place inside the vase. Use a black fine-point permanent marker to trace the Santa silhouette and holly into the middle of the oval. Use a #8 round brush to paint with two coats of Black.
- Use a #8 round brush to paint the holly berries in Tuscan Red and the leaves in Festive Green. Use a #8 brush to outline the holly berries and leaves in Black.
- Use a #8 round brush to outline the dotted line and dots around the oval in Black.
- Use a #8 round brush to add dots in Festive Green around the top and bottom of the band, all the way around the vase.
