Retro Snowman Pillow with SoSoft

SUPPLIES

SoSoft® Fabric Paint

  • Bright Avocado (DSS99)
  • Green Apple (DSS75)
  • Indian Turquoise (DSS79)
  • Lamp Black (DSS24)
  • Red Pepper (DSS88)
  • White (DSS1)

Other supplies

  • pencil (optional)
  • liner brush
  • small round brush
  • large flat brush
  • fabric pen (Mark-B-Gone)
  • medium round brush
  • blank canvas pillow cover
  • 14" x 14" pillow form (JoAnn)

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Hold the pillowcase up to the light after the paint dries to see any spots you might have missed.

  1. Gather all the supplies on the list.

  2. Use a fabric pen to draw the provided snowman pattern on the pillow cover. (Don’t worry if it’s not perfect since the ink will disappear.)

  3. Use Lamp Black to paint the hat, using a medium round brush and a liner brush. Use Bright Avocado and a small round brush for the holly. Highlight the holly with Green Apple using a liner brush. Highlight the hat with White using a liner brush. Use Red Pepper for the holly berries using a liner brush. Use a large flat brush and a liner brush to paint the snowman's face in White.

  4. Using a liner brush, outline the scarf with Red Pepper. Fill in with Red Pepper and White using a small round brush.

  5. Use a pencil or a fabric pen to draw the face on the snowman. Use a liner brush to paint the eyes and mouth with Lamp Black. Paint the nose with a liner brush and Red Pepper.

  6. Highlight the scarf with a liner brush in Lamp Black. Use a large flat brush to paint the background in Indian Turquoise. (Switch to a liner brush to paint the background in Indian Turquoise close to snowman's edges). Use a liner brush to paint stars in Red Pepper randomly on the background.
