Decorate an inspirational journal with mixed media in the colors of a rainbow.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• pencil
• 3/4" flat brush
• cosmetic sponge
• plain white copy paper
• permanent marker
• journal

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Saturate a 3/4" flat brush in water and paint the journal cover with all colors: Hansa Yellow Medium, Primary Magenta, Cerulean Blue, and Dioxazine Purple. Do not rinse the brush between colors; this will help the colors blend together.
2. Mix all of the colors with equal parts Titanium White. Use the eraser end of a pencil and add dots throughout using the pastel colors.
3. Use a black permanent marker to free-hand the words "My Imagination Journal" on a piece of white paper and tear. Use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere with Matte Medium. (Refer to photo for placement.)
4. Set the Americana Radical Rays Stencil in place. (Refer to photo for placement.) Use a cosmetic sponge to dab Carbon Black on the stencil. Use a cosmetic sponge to randomly smudge Carbon Black in other areas.
