Pucker Up! Fruit Basket Crate

Prepare to "Pucker Up" for spring with this fresh fruit basket using Crafter's Acrylics®.

SUPPLIES

Crafter's Acrylic®

  • Black (DCA47)
  • Bright Yellow (DCA49)
  • Christmas Green (DCA37)
  • Christmas Red (DCA20)
  • White (DCA01)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels
  • sandpaper
  • small wooden crate
  • paintbrushes

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Lightly sand the surface of the crate.

  2. Paint the crate in White. Allow to dry, then re-apply.

  3. Use the provided pattern to draw the words, "Pucker Up", on both sides of the crate.

  4. Outline the words in Black. Paint the center of the letters in Bright Yellow.
    Step 3 Example
  5. Paint lemons and lemon leaves along the slats of the crate. (For the lemons, paint ovals and a swirl on the inside of the lemons. See photo.) The lemons are Bright Yellow; the leaves are Christmas Green.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Fill in the leaves with a 1:1 mix of Christmas Green and White. Shade the lemons along the bottom with a 1:1 mix of Christmas Red and White. Accent the lemons with lines in Christmas Red. (See photo)

  7. When complete, use the crate to store seasonal fruit.
