    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint all the pieces in black with a medium flat brush.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Paint each piece with a rough topcoat in a color of your choice, such as green, blue, red, cream, and orange. (Leave some of the black basecoat showing.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Print the stencil patterns on white copy paper and cut out the designs with a craft knife. (Do not cut the striped patterns apart.) Use a low-tack spray adhesive to attach the stencils to their coordinating wooden shape.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. On the cylinder shaped pieces, wrap the striped stencils around each one and adhere with spray adhesive. Cut away the gray stripes and discard.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Stencil with Chalky Finish paint in desired colors, such as black, green, peach, and cream.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. To compensate for the curvature of the two upper larger wooden balls, make a stencil out of painter's tape by adhering the stencil pattern to the tape and cutting out the design with the craft knife. Smooth the blue tape stencil onto the ball and stencil in cream.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. For the lower larger ball, I used a small liner brush for the outer circles in black.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Sand all the pieces to distress. Apply a sealer of choice.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Arrange the pieces and insert the screw eyes and cupholder screws. (I found that an awl was perfect for piercing the wood where I wanted the screws to go.) Attach an eye hook on the top of the mobile with a piece of twine of choice for hanging.
    18. Instruction #9
