Bright and beautiful pastels of Americana Decor® Chalky Finish™ are a great way to pretty up an old dresser.

SUPPLIES

• sandpaper
• flat brush
• dresser
• plastic cup or container
• clean cloth
• drawer knobs
• aluminum foil

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove all drawers from the dresser and wipe the piece down thoroughly.

2. Unscrew all hardware and use fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out any indentations the original hardware made on the drawers.

3. Paint the body of the dresser using Everlasting. Mix the paint for the drawers: Use Reminisce for the bottom drawer and then gradually lighten it using Everlasting for each drawer. (Mix each of the colors in disposable cups until you get the colors you like. Cover the cups in aluminum foil when you aren't using them.)

4. Put two coats of each color on each drawer, letting them dry completely between each coat. Paint one coat of Soft-Touch Varnish over the entire dresser to protect the chalky finish paint.

5. Paint the rest of the dresser in Everlasting and varnish with Soft-Touch Varnish. Let dry. Once dry, replace the original hardware with crystal knobs and put the dresser back together.
