INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
If you do not have a stripe stencil, make your own with a piece of Bristol board and a craft knife or use narrow masking tape to create stripes.
- Use a #8 flat brush to basecoat the plaque rim, stocking top, and bone Snow White.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush and Lamp Black to paint the inside of the plaque.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush and Santa Red to paint the stocking bottom.
- Position vertically and secure a stripe stencil with painter's tape. (See photo for placement.) Pour a small puddle of Ultra-Matte Varnish on a palette or plastic plate. Mix in a few drops of Lamp Black. Use a cosmetic sponge wedge to apply a thin coat of the mix to create vertical stripes.
- When the vertical stripes are dry, reposition the stencil horizontally. Repeat the application of mix from STEP 4 to create plaid.
- Drill a hole in the top corner of the stocking. Thread a piece of twine through the hole and knot.
- Use a fine point marker and the Between the Lines Solid stencil to personalize the stockings and bone. Add stitch marks with the marker.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush and Ultra-Matte Varnish to seal the plaque. When dry, position and glue letters of your choice inside the plaque.
- Thread beads on a piece of wire. (I deconstructed a bead garland but you can use painted beads of your choice.)
- Attach screw eyes to the top left and right corners of the plaque. Attach the wired beads to the screw eyes.
- Attach evenly-spaced small screw eyes on bottom of plaque.
- Thread twine through the screw eyes and tie in a small bow.
