Peppermint Framed

Build this striped holiday décor with wooden frames and Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- stylus or pencil
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- 1" painter's tape
- #1 liner brush
- fabric
- wooden frames
- masking tape
- screwdriver
- 1/2" stencil brush
- hinges
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Remove the cardboard inserts from the frames and save for later.
- Use a large flat brush to paint the frames with Snow White.
- Line up the painted frames evenly side-by-side.
- Position and adhere painter's tape for horizontal stripes.
- Paint the open areas Santa Red.
- Remove the tape.
- Position the cardboard inserts, white side down, on fabric squares.
- Fold the fabric edges over the cardboard and secure with masking tape.
- Trace and transfer "J" and "Y" onto two fabric-covered squares.
- Paint the "J" and "Y" Lamp Black. Use the handle end of a brush and Snow White to dot the letters.
- Paint the third fabric square Lamp Black.
- Trace and transfer the outline for the snowflake on the Lamp Black square.
- Use a liner brush and Snow White to paint lines and the handle end of a brush to make dots.
- Attach the hinges to the frame sides with a screwdriver.
- Embellish with the triptych with ribbon and greenery, if desired.
