NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Mix together brown and black to form a dark brown color. In sections, brush on the mix with a large flat brush. Wipe back with a soft cloth to create a stained look.
- Use a flat brush to dry-brush blue onto the end of the crate. Use the same brush and technique to add alternating stripes of red and white on the sides of the crate.
- Apply a piece of tape onto a piece of computer paper. Punch out the star punch onto the paper to create a star stencil. Use a cosmetic sponge to apply white stars onto the blue area using the punched paper star.
- Repeat the staining process on the chalkboard signs. (See step 1)
- Using a small flat brush, dry-brush white and red stripes on the vertical stands. Dry-brush the bottoms of the stands in blue. Use the same paper star punch to apply white stars to the bases.
