Pretty Paper Plate Bird Mobile

The kids can turn paper plates into pretty birds with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • scissors
    • pencil
    • craft glue
    • wooden beads
    • paper plate
    • medium and small flat brush
    • baker's twine

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use scissors to cut three of the paper plates into this bird shape. Keep that piece that is cut out as that will be the wing. (See photo.) Cut a triangle shape for the beak from the cut scrap and adhere it with craft glue.

    3. Use a medium brush to paint the birds in yellows, light blues, pinks, and corals of Americana Acrylics from the above list.

    5. Cut out three wing shapes from the scrap pieces. Use a medium brush to paint the wings in contrasting colors. Adhere to each painted bird with craft glue.

    7. Use a small brush to paint the beak in Spiced Pumpkin and the eye in Crisp Blue.

    9. Use a pencil to make four holes on a paper plate: one in the middle and three on the sides. Loop a bead and baker's twine through the middle hole and secure by tying a knot. Use clear tape to secure baker's twine to the birds and secure each through a hole by tying a knot.
