Painted Foxglove Velvet Dress and Bag

Be the star of the show in this velvet dress and bag combo hand-painted with SoSoft® Fabric Paint.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • cardboard
    • 1" painter's tape
    • paintbrushes
    • velvet dress
    • velvet handbag

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Print out the provide pattern. Cut out the leaning set of foxgloves; hold it in place or secure it with a small piece of painter's tape; and trace it loosely with Avocado Green.

    3. Trace and fill in the leaf shapes and the stem with Avocado green. Trace the flowers and add touches of Dioxazine Purple in spots where the flower meets the stem.

    5. Add a layer Bright Avocado in spots along the leaves and the stem, creating a layer and highlights. Fill in the long part of the flowers (not the round opening) in Lavender, paint spots of color on the buds at the top of the stem as well.

    7. Add Green Apple to leaves and stems in spots to add the final highlight. Add more Lavender highlights along the length of the flowers, highlight the round opening and drag that color towards the black center of the flowers, creating depth.

    9. Add dots to the center of the round opening of the flowers in Baby Pink Deep and a soft highlight on the round opening of the flower.

    11. Secure the dress to a scrap piece of cardboard and hold in place with tape. Repeat the same steps listed above with the other foxglove from the pattern, line up the pattern with the bottom edge of the dress. Begin filling in the space as in step two with Avocado Green and Dioxazine Purple.

    13. Add highlights around the opening of the foxglove petals with Lavender and soft lines and highlights along the long part of the flower.

    15. Following the steps listed above for the purse, add the highlights and dots to the foxglove stem and enjoy!!
