Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paintbrush
  • wooden frame (9" x 12"; unfinished)
  • tin snips
  • 1" wood buttons (Hobby Lobby)
  • 3/4" round magnets (Hobby Lobby)
  • decorative aluminum sheet (Hobby Lobby)
  • E6000 Glue (E6000)


  1. Paint the raw wooden frame with Turquoise Waters. Add Canary accents if desired. Let dry completely.

  2. Paint five Apple Green buttons and five Flamingo buttons. Add Canary accents if desired. Let dry completely.

  3. Using tin snips, cut the aluminum sheet to fit the frame.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Paint the tic-tac-toe board using Eggplant and the home spaces for the buttons using Apple Green and Flamingo onto the aluminum sheet. Let dry completely.

  5. Glue the aluminum sheet to the back of the frame using E6000 Glue.

  6. Secure magnets to the backs of the buttons and to the back of the aluminum sheet. (Make sure the magnets are aligned correctly so they attract each other during play.) Allow the magnets to dry completely before playing.
